Need & Necessity:
 In traditional restaurant system
orders are taken by a waiter.
 This system relies manpower to
handle customer reservation.
 To improve the service quality by
using advanced technologies has
received much attention in recent
years.
 Intelligent Restaurant ‖it’s all
about getting all of different
touch-points and speeding
processes.
Introduction:
 Robots can be divided in two
main types:
 Tele operated robots
 Autonomous robots
• Tele operated robot is
remotely controlled and
guided by a human operator.
• The autonomous robot has
multiple sensors to detect
events and measure state
information which is then
used to apply control logic.
FOOD DELIVERY ROBOT PARAMETERS:
 Material: Polyethylene
 Heavy volume: 50kg
 Heavy load: 15kg
 Climbing: less than 10 degrees
 Table size: 50*35cm
 Navigation mode: magnetic
 induction
 Running time: 20-40 m/min
 Continuous work: 10-12 hours
 Battery capacity: 24v 20a
List of robot parts:
 Motor drivers-PLC
controller
 IC card
 Magnetic stripe
 Lithium ion battery
 Operating screen
 Brushless motors
PLC Controller:
 The PLC master control for the restaurant service robot
for example directs and guides the robot to its respective
position where the command is given to the robot.
 let us say table number 10, so as per the location of the
RFID card on the magnetic strip the master control
identifies the final position as per the command.
 The PLC has only one programming language in order to
support the entire operation of the robot i.e. the ladder
logic programming.
IC Card:
 IC card is the integrated circuit card, is a new type of
information tool that appears after the magnetic card.
 It is a card form made of microelectronic chip
embedded in the ISO 7816 standard card base.
 APPLICATIONS:
 Banking
 Charging system
 Parking management
Magnetic strip:
 A magnetic stripe card is a type of
plastic card which has a magnetic
stripe on it capable of storing data by
modifying the magnetism of tiny
iron-based magnetic particles on a
band of magnetic material on the
card.
 APPLICATIONS:
 Bank cards, securities, insurance,Retail
services.
Lithium ion battery:
 Lithium-ion is a low maintenance battery,
an advantage that most other chemistries
cannot claim.
 There is no memory and no scheduled
cycling is required to prolong the battery's
life.
 The self-discharge is less making it well
suited for modern fuel gauge applications.
Operating screen :
 A operating screen, is an input device and normally
layered on the top of an electronic visual display of
an information processing system. A user can give
input or control the information processing system
through simple or multi-touch gestures by touching
the screen with a special stylus or one or more fingers.
 The operating screen enables the user to interact
directly with what is displayed, rather than using
a mouse.
Assembly of robot:
 Basically the outer part of the robot is made up of the
poly ethylene i.e. plastic material.
 All the parts are assembled to the PLC master control.
 This is the main part of the robot where all operations
to be performed by the robot will be instructed.
 The parts like eye sensor, display unit , obstacle sensor,
movement sensor and all other parts connections are
given to the PLC motor controller.
Injection Moulding:
 Injection moulding is a manufacturing technique for
making parts from both thermoplastic and
thermosetting plastic materials in production.
 Molten plastic is injected at high pressure into a mold,
which is the inverse of the product's shape.
Operation of robot:
 There is a universal wheel which is fixed at the base of
the robot, this wheel will help the robot to move
forward and backward and this universal wheel will
help the robot to go into that position.
 This wheel is attached with a sensor which will move
on the magnetic stripe and its being controlled by the
PLC motor control only.
 This wheel is made up of some soft plastic material so
that it can move on the magnetic path smoothly and
easily.
Flowchart:
Conclusion:
 The guest serving robot is a part of
automation system.
 More experiment are being planning
for improving the performance and
better human machine interfacing
design.
 Never the less, it will ignite the version
of complete automation in the near
future generation and will introduce
technological implementation.
