What is Supply Chain Management

 A supply Chain is a ‘network of facilities and activities


that performs the functions of product development.
 Procurement of material from suppliers, Manufacturing
of products, the distribution of finished goods to
customers

 A global supply chain is a dynamic worldwide network when a


company purchases or uses goods or services from overseas.

 It involves people, information, processes and resources involved


in the production, handling and distribution of materials and
finished products or providing a service to the customer.
What does supply chain do

 In commerce, supply-chain management (SCM), the


management of the flow of goods and services,
involves the movement and storage of raw materials,
of work-in-process inventory, and of finished goods from
point of origin to point of consumption.
