Camera Parts and functions Lens- a convex lens in front of the camera that converges light images to the film into sharp images. Aperture Control - a diaphragm of overlapping leaves connected in a standardized series of “f stops”. Shutter release button- activates the shutter mechanism which control the amount of light reaching the film. Focusing Mechanism- moves the lens backward and forward so that the image seen on the viewfinder can be brought in to focus. Viewfinder- used to locate the frame the photo subject use.
