OXYGEN THERAPY

Oxygen Delivery (Do2)

• There are six steps of oxygen delivery
1. Ventilation  convection oxygen from environment into the body
2. Oxygen uptake  diffusion oxygen into the blood
3. Reversible chemical bonding with haemoglobin
4. CO: cardiac output convective transport oxygen into tissue
5. Diffusion into cells and organelle to mitochondria
6. The redox state of the cells
