Acts 19:11-16 Acts 19:13 [13]Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. Acts 19:14 [14]And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. Acts 19:11-16 Acts 19:15-16 [15]And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
[16]And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped
on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. God works miracles Acts 19:11,16 [11]And God wrought special miracles... God works miracles The Lord Jesus will work miracles for His people. (Counsels on Health, p. 553) God works miracles There are miracles to be wrought in genuine conversions,—miracles that are not now discerned. The greatest men of this earth are not beyond the power of a wonder-working God. (Acts of the Apostles, p. 140) God works miracles through consecrated lives Christ will perform wonderful miracles if men will but do their God-given part. (Christ's Object Lesson, p. 236) God works miracles through consecrated lives Use your time and talents in his service, and he will not fail to work with your efforts. (Christian Education, p. 116) God works miracles through consecrated lives Things will go wrong because of unconsecrated workers. (Christian Service, p. 243) God works miracles through consecrated lives The angels of God cannot accompany the unconsecrated. (Review and Herald, May 20, 1890) Who are these unconsecrated? • They are the faultfinders • They are the gossippers and backbiters • They are the crabs in the church • They are the hypocrites • They are the wolves in sheep's clothing • They are the half-baked SDAs God works miracles through consecrated lives As to who and what I am today, can God work miracles through me? God works miracles through consecrated lives who know Him deeply How well do you know your God?? Acts 19:14-15 Acts 19:14 [14]And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. [15]And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? Right away the devil recognized that they are using a name whom they do not know Is it possible that we are bearing the name of Christ but we just know Him by name? Is it possible that someone will claim to be a christian and live not like one? Is it possible that someone will claim to be a Seventh-day Adventist but does not act like one? Story of a Quack Doctor Our church today is experiencing an identity crisis. It seems that we forgot who we really are. With worldly sights and sounds gripping millions of seventhday adventists 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with only 2-3 hours on the sabbath day, God's remnant is in great trouble. How well do you know your God?? Knowing God is Walking WITH God Enock walked with God David Samuel etc. (when the bible mentioned that they went walking with God it was not a one day experience) Walking with God is a daily basis Yes we are oriented to be walking closer to God but the sad fact is that, some are walking backwards.
