ICING- A flavored sugar topping
used to coat and decorate cakes
and pastries.
*Types of Icing*
1. ROYAL ICING 4. FONDANT ICING

3. BOILED ICING
1. ROYAL ICING- The most basic type of
icing made up of egg whites, sugar , and
cream of tartar. Mixed through hand
mixer to make it fluffy.
2. BUTTER CREAM ICING- a common type of
butter cream is made up of confectioner’s
sugar, butter and milk mixed together to
form icing.
3. BOILED ICING-The ingredients with Royal
icing is almost the same with boiled icing
except the process of boiling sugar before
pouring to meringue. It has a glossy texture.
4. FONDANT- It is usually covered on cakes
with a very sweet flavor.
It can be mold in any shape. It also has a clay
texture.
5. FLAT ICING- Is a watery icing that gets dry
after few minutes. This is a mixture of
confectioner’s sugar, water and a little bit of
water. It is good in decorating biscuits.
