Colossians 4:2-6

2Devote yourselves to prayer,

keeping alert in it with an attitude
of thanksgiving; 3praying at the
same time for us as well, that God
will open up to us a door for the
word, so that we may speak forth
the mystery of Christ, for which I
have also been imprisoned;
Colossians 4:2-6
4thatI may make it clear in the way
I ought to speak. 5Conduct
yourselves with wisdom toward
outsiders, making the most of the
opportunity. 6Let your speech
always be with grace, as though
seasoned with salt, so that you will
know how you should respond to
each person.
Colossians 4:2-6

Live with the

Right Purpose
Colossians 4:2-6
Live with the Right Purpose
Have you asked God the reason
for your existence?
Or do we simply follow the crowd
oblivious of its destination?
“The greatest tragedy in life is not
death but a live without a purpose.”
- Dr. Miles Monroe
Colossians 4:2-6
Live with the Right Purpose
“It is more tragic to be alive and not
know why, than to be dead and not
know life.” - Dr. Miles Monroe

the man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s
purpose that prevails.”

a life with a wrong purpose.”

Colossians 4:2-6
Live with the Right Purpose
What will happen to us if there is
no purpose for living?
 We will struggle in search for the
meaning of our lives.
 Meaningless lives leads to
depression and anxiety.
 Our lives will wander in
wilderness of futility.
Colossians 4:2-6
Live with the Right Purpose
What will happen to us if there is
no purpose for living?
 And when people struggle,
depressed and hopeless. . .
It leads to suicide…
Colossians 4:2-6
Live with the Right Purpose
What does God says about our
purpose in life?
“For by Him, all things were created,
both in the heavens and on earth,
visible and invisible, whether thrones
or dominions or rulers or authorities,
all things have been created through
him and for Him.” – Colossians 1:16
Colossians 4:2-6
Live with the Right Purpose
Until we understand the reality and
believe with all our hearts and minds
that we are created through Him
and for Him, life will be meaningless
If we know why we exists, then when
problems come our way, we can
survive and thrive.
Colossians 4:2-6
Live with the Right Purpose
Since we are created through Him
and for Him, how then should we
live?
WE ARE TO LIVE A LIFE
PLEASING TO GOD.
Colossians 4:2-6
Live with the Right Purpose
therefore is . . .
LIVING A LIFE PLEASING TO GOD
2Cor. 5:9 “So we make it our goal to
please Him, whether we are at home
in the body or away from it.” - NIV

as our ambition, whether at home or
absent, to be pleasing to Him.”

Rom. 14:7-8 “For none of us lives to
himself alone. If we live, we live to
the Lord; and if we die, we die to the
Lord. So, whether we live or die, we
belong to the Lord.” - NIV

purpose for our lives and ought to be

our lives.

resources for what pleases God.
Colossians 4:2-6
Live with the Right Purpose therefore is . . .
LIVING A LIFE PLEASING TO GOD

decision-making clear and simple.
If we are driven by worldly
pleasures, we will tend to make
decisions based on pursuits that are
fleeting.
Colossians 4:2-6
Live with the Right Purpose therefore is . . .
LIVING A LIFE PLEASING TO GOD
The ONLY WAY to live a life pleasing
to GOD is to believe that we are
made by HIM and for HIM.
And there is no other way to LIVE
but by HIM.
Because without HIM we are
NOTHING.
Colossians 4:2-6
Live with the Right Purpose therefore is . . .
LIVING A LIFE PLEASING TO GOD
Phil. 1:20-21 “I eagerly expect and
hope that I will in no way be
ashamed, but will have sufficient
courage so that now as always Christ
will be exalted in my body, whether
by life or by death. For to me, to live
is Christ and to die is gain.”

saved?” 31They replied, “Believe in the
Lord Jesus and you will be saved – you
and your household.” 32Then they spoke
the Word of the Lord to him and to all the
others in the house 33 … the jailer took
them and wash their wounds, … all his
household were baptized. 34 The jailer
brought them into his house.
35When it was daylight, the magistrates
sent their officers to the jailer with the
order: “Release those men.”
