What is the effect of receiving
the Holy Spirit?
We can experience the same power and
gift that the early Christians did. Same
relationship with Jesus, same
transforming power, same deep worship,
and same power for speaking the gospel.

We receive Spiritual Gifts

 With the Holy Spirit, we gain:
• A new nature, spiritual power. Gal 5:16-23
• The inward dimension.

• Power to serve. Acts 1:8

• The outward dimension.
 God’s promise of the Holy Spirit.
• Lk 11:9-13
• Kaya sinasabi ko sa inyo Humihingi kayo at
kayo’y bibigyan , humanap kayo at kayo’y
makasusumpong, kumatok kayo at ang pinto’y
bubuksan para sa inyo. Sapagkat tumatanggap
ang bawat humihingi , nakasusumpong ang
bawat humahanap at binubuksan ang pinto sa
bawat kumakatok.

 Receiving the Gifts

Gift of Tongues – a spiritual gift for self edification /

communication to the church

Interpretation of Tongues - This gift enables an

individual to speak to the assembly, the general meaning of
whatever was said aloud in the gift of tongues.

Prophecy -A message from God spoken forth as “will”

by the speaker. (1 Corinthians 14:32) to give God’s
message to His people. It may be for an individual, a group
of individuals or for the whole community.
 Receiving the Gifts
Word of Knowledge - It is mainly a gift that
enables one to understand and to teach.

Word of Wisdom – It enables a person to open the

hearers to God’s wisdom in handling or reacting to a
situation, or to silence an opponent. It is the right word in
times of opportunity or emergency.

Discerning of Spirits – It is to discover what

spirit motivates an individual in a given situation – The
Holy Spirit – The human spirit – An evil spirit.
 Receiving the Gifts
Faith - Not the faith or faithfulness that is a fruit of the
Spirit, but the faith that is given in certain situations where
a person knows with certainty that what he or she is
praying for or hoping for will come to pass, even when the
evidence is to the contrary.
Healing – When the Lord restores a person to
physical, mental or spiritual health, usually as a direct
answer to prayer. The healing can be instantaneous or
gradual.
Miracles - When the Lord intervenes in humanly
impossible or hopeless situations and turns the
situation around. (ex. Healing of a terminal disease).

maling gawain?
Opo itinatakwil ko
Sumasampalataya ka ba na si Hesus ay anak ng Diyos
at namatay siya upang iligtas tayo sa ating mga
kasalanan. At muli syang nabuhay upang bigyan tayo
ng bagong buhay?
Opo sumasampalataya ako.
Susunod ka ba kay Hesus bilang iyong Panginoon?
Opo susunod ako
Panginoong Hesukristo, hangad ko na maging iyo na
magmula ngayon nais ko na makawala sa kadiliman
at kay Satanas at ibig ko na makapasok sa iyong
kaharian at maging bahagi ng iyong mga tao.
Tatalikdan ko ang lahat ng mga maling gawain at
iiwasan ko ang mga bagay na mag-aakay sakin sa
pagkakasala. Hinihiling ko po na ako’y iyong
patawarin sa lahat ng nagawa kong pagkakasala.
Inaalay ko sayo ang aking buhay. At nangangako ako
na sundin ka bilang aking Panginoon. Hinihiling ko na
bautismuhan mo po ako sa Espiritu Santo. Amen

The Challenge:
You have claimed God’s promise of the Holy Spirit.
You have been baptized in the Spirit and received
new life from God. You are now beginning a new
life in faith. Will you commit yourself fully to Jesus
and grow in the life of the Spirit?
