Can’t Make You Love Me. This is my favourite cover he has put out.

• This track he put out got me into Bon Iver a lot more, also inspired me to
learn this, and learn more about him
The Album “For Emma, Forever Ago”
• The 2007 album “for emma, forever ago”, was one I heard a couple years
after it came out. My piano teacher wanted me to learn “Skinny Love” which
an artist named “Birdy” covered, and put piano over it. (I was about 9) and
that is when I did more research on the album itself.

• Skinny love is the most popular song he has ever written.

The Album “For Emma, Forever Ago
• After learing, Birdy’s version. I researched more
into this album, due the audio, and instruments
used.

• The birth of this album came when Justin

Vernon’s band and relationship broke up. He
was also diagnosed with mononucleosis and a
liver infection.

• He went off to his father cabin, in the middle of

the woods in remote northwestern Wisconsin for
three months hunting and strumming an
acoustic guitar. He recorded most of his music
with instruments he made.

• He came back 3 months later with this album.

• After hearing about his writing experience, and

relating to how he coped, I fell in love with his
