Master plan:-

• Master plan is document which used to provide the future layout of the city showing both the existing and
proposed layout of the roads ,streets; open spaces , public bldgs.,etc.
• Mp is prepared for the development of the town or far a new town to be developed .
• Therefore it aims at controlling the future growth of the town along preconceived and predetermined paths
• Objectives:-
• It aims at spending intelligently and economically the public funds.
• It arranges the town pattern in such a way so as to satisfy the present and the future req.
• It helps in restricting the haphazard and unplanned growth
• It places various functions which a town has to perform in physical relationship of each other so as to avoid the
chance of mutual conflict.
• It removes the defects of uncoordinated physical growth of the various components of town due to the fact that it
considers the entire city area as planning and development authority.
• It serves as guide to the planning body for making any recommendations for public improvement.
