Heat phlegm dampness and cold phlegm
dampness
Phlegm dampness syndrome
Presence of qi and blood stagnation
Fluids deficiency syndrome
Yang deficiency with dampness
syndrome
In yang deficiency with cold syndrome,
the tongue is pale and the fur whitish
Exfoliated fur and peeling fur are mostly seen in the
presence of yin deficiency or both qi and yin
deficiency or in some people with allergic
constitution
Pale tongue with little fur or peeling fur is seen
in the presence of qi deficiency
Crimson tongue with little fur is seen in the presence of
severe heat; dry tongue with little fur is seen in the
presence of severe yin deficiency.
Central peeled fur is seen in spleen-
stomach yin deficiency
syndrome;root peeled fur is seen in
kidney yin deficiency syndrome.
Yin deficiency syndrome (deficient
heat syndrome)
Blood deficiency syndorme
Tongue of qi deficiency syndrome is indicated in
color, no marked abnormality in mild conditions,
pale tongue or even tender swollen tongue in severe
conditions
It indicates consumption of body fluids due
to extreme heat.
It indicates internal accumulation of
dampness-heat lingering for a long time.
It indicates cold-dampness due to yang
deficiency, or internal retention of phlegm-
fluids.
It is a sign of mixture of phlegm or dampness-
turbidity and pathogenic heat
It indicates dampness-heat, or transformation of
phlegm-fluid into heat, or retention of food and heat.
It indicates transformation of accumulated phlegm-
fluid into heat in the body constitution of yang
deficiency and cold-dampness, or invasion of
dampness-heat in the patients with the body
constitution of qi and blood deficiency.
It indicates consumption of body fluids due to
pathogenic heat, or accumulation heat-
dampness
It indicates excess pathogenic heat which lingers
for a long time
