This accident happened on Tuesday,
April 17, 2017 in Manado. The
construction of the bridge connecting
the main highway from Manado to
Bitung collapsed while the casting was
done.

DESCRIPTION
This accident was caused by scaffolding. Scaffolding
strength has decreased because it is often used, is
old, and has been rusting. About 17 workers on the toll
road construction project had an accident due to the
collapse of the bridge construction. The casting of the
bridge’s floor plate suddenly collapsed and hit 17
workers bellow. 15 workers were successfully
evacuated safely while two of them were found dead
after being buried for about 12 hours.

The victims have followed the procedure. The problem
occurred when they were checking casting that was not
right, when the cast was still wet so it was easier to
collapse and scaffolding that was no strong to refute it.

PT. WIKA will accept existing penalties. Then, PT

WIKA will ensure that the victims get good treatment.
