Challenge 1: Working in pairs,

represent the recent climate history
of the Brattleboro area, by creating
a series of tree rings correlated to
your data set.

Parameters:
• Use the stick provided to start your tree rings
• See provided key for more information about how to represent each year.
• Place a “cap” of play-do on either end of your tree to conceal the layers inside.

group’s representation, by taking a
sample from their tree ring.
Describe the recent climate history
represented.

Parameters:
• Measure the tree rings and use the key to estimate rainfall.
