 What PEAS are?
 An example of PEAS
Agents

 An agent is anything which can perceive its environment through

sensors and act upon that environment through actuators

i. non-purposive agent can be grouped together and called Nature eg

dog
ii. Purposive eg thermostat sense the world to turn a heater on or off
Automatic air refreshner ,,treat odors arising

 The agent analyses the complete history of it percepts using an agent

function that maps the sequence of percept in an action
 We need to analyses the task environment which are the problems for
which the agent are the solution
Task environment

 This gives a specification of the performance measurement, external

environment, actuators and the sensors which make the peas

 Specified as follows:
 page{percepts, action, goal, environment}
 Peas{performance, environment, actuators, sensors }
What is PEAS?

 Peas
 Performance measure: it is the objective function to judge the
performance of the agent
 Environment : the shows the real environment
 Actuators: these are the tools, equipment or organs which agents
perform actions of the environment.(output)
 Sensors: These are tools, organs using which agents captures the
state of the environment(works as input)
Example of agent types and PEAS description
