MONEY was derived from the Latin
word moneta, surname of the Roman
goddess Juno.
Moneta refers to a mint or a place for
coining money.
Money it is commonly defined as
anything that we received with the
exchange of goods and services.

1. COMMODITY MONEY
2. CURRENCY
3. CHECK
When things are used to get what
we want ,be it goods and services,
the things we used to pay for such
may be termed commodity money.
Commodity money has its
own value other than using it as
money.
the government of any country issues
currency that is legal tender in the
country.
currency these are the bills and
coins issued by the government as
a medium of exchange.
It should be durable, portable,
divisible and valuable.

it is generally used by
business and persons in
conducting the business, as
well as personal transactions.

5. Bank draft
 Personal check- issued by individuals with
checking/current account in a bank
 Business check- issued by businesses with
checking/current account in a bank
 Cashiers/manager’s check- purchased from a
bank
 Certified check- personal or business check
certified by the bank that funds are available to
pay the same.
 Bank draft- also purchased from the bank like
cashier’s or manager’s check.
