Field Experience

● I experienced all the many

students in high school and
junior high

First Day
● We practiced algebra
equations and did a packet
● Mr. Blanton helped with any
student that came up and put
in grades as soon as he got it
Lessons

Mr. Blanton is a very well organized teacher. You do not ever see paper on his
desk that are waiting to be graded.

When he receives a paper he puts a grade in and gives feedback immediately.

In his math class he begins a new lesson and teaches the problem, and also
relates back to his other lessons.

His packets are multiple equations over the new lesson and the students are
given the week to work on it. He puts a grade for every page of the packet they
bring up and he gives feedback to them about every problem.
Mr. Blanton’s Teaching Style
Mr. Blanton’s teaching style is very similar to how I would like to teach. Even for high
school students, when he was teaching the students would pay attention. This shows
he had full control of his classroom. Yes everyone would have fun, but Blanton
wanted to be serious as well. He would always explain and make sure to show every
single step and make sure everyone understood the problems. This is how I would
want to control my classroom, and being able to see it live makes me even more
excited to be a teacher.
What I Learned

In my classroom I will have full control, but not have the

students fall asleep with every lesson. Let them be in the
lesson as much as anything else. Help and give feedback as
much as possible. The biggest thing I observed was his
grading. His gradebook was so organized and and he always
wanted to get the grade in and back to the students as
quickly as possible.
