CELL REPRODUCTION

Defenition of Cell Reproduction

Reproduction or also called development is one of the characteristics of living

things to maintain their kind and support. While the meaning of cell reproduction
is the process of increasing the number of cells by dividing themselves, both in
multicellular and unicellular relationships.
The purpose of cell reproduction

1. Cell multiplication so that growth occurs

2. The formation of new cells that are different from their parent

3. new cell formation which is certainly younger and the same as before

4. Network formation

5. Cell regeneration

6. The formation of new individuals and others

MITOSIS
• Mitosis division occurs in eukaryotic cells

• Produces two identical sapling cells

• Occurs in young body cells

MEIOSIS

 Meiosis occurs in gamete cells or sex cells, namely in animals and

humans, when the formation of ovum, the formation of sperm.
whereas in plants occurs when pollen formation and ovule
formation

 Meiotic division will produce 4 sapling cells which are half the
nature of the parent cell
