GM Marketing – Key highlights

Organizational level gains


• With the new competition it has been hard to market existing products, leading to
a decline in sales growth – new products will help us get back the sales on track
• Decentralized dept and centralized structure is becoming critical, as inter-
departmental communication will then become easier, which is currently a major
problem.
• Ideas for new products coming from marketing can now be easily and quickly taken
into R&D.
• Agreed to train the employees to enable better communication with manufacturing
• Better cultural integration of marketing with the organization – improvement of
‘Golf club’ image

Personal stakes
• Personally I will get a more visible role – more work for marketing with new
product launches.
• Expansion of portfolio - More control over R&D
• My position as a senior GM becomes stronger
