LTE-Long Term Evolution (4G)

Drive test parameters

Drive test parameters-
 RSRP
 RSRQ
 RSSI
 SINR
 CQI
 PCI
 BLER
 DL and UL throughput
Parameters-
 RSRP-Reference signal received power
 The amount of signal strength received from
enb.
 Values should be in -44 to -140 dbm.
 RSRQ-Reference signal received quality
 The amount of sound quality received from enb.
 Values should be in -3 to -19.5 dbm.
 Depends upon RSRP and RSSI.
 More RSSI-Degrades RSRQ, less RSSI-RSRQ is
good.
Parameters-
 RSSI-Reference symbol signal intensity.
 It is intracell power including interference and noise.
 It is known as wideband power.(noise+signal
power+interference power.
 Less interference and noise-Good RSRQ.
 SINR-Signal to interference noise ratio
 It is calculated based on average signal
power,average received interference and average
received noise.
 SINR RANGES ARE 1-30
 Value should be greater than 25 for good
throughput.
Parameters-
 CQI-Channel quality index.
 Quality of channel for DL.
 Depends on good radio conditions
 Calculated in dedicated mode only.
 Values are from 1 to 15, 15 is good and as it goes
below it becomes bad.
 PCI-Physical cell identity.
 Distinguishes the identity of serving cell
 There are 504 physical cell identities compared to
512 UMTS scrambling codes.
Parameters-
 BLER-Block error ratio.
 It is defined by the total errors which are received
in the network.
 Value should be <10%.
