The Temple of Diana
also known as the
Temple of Artemis or
Artemision, was
a Greek temple
dedicated to an ancient.
It was located
in Ephesus (near the
modern town
of Selçuk in present-
day Turkey). It was
completely rebuilt three
times, and in its final
form was one of the
Seven Wonders of the
Ancient World .
The great temple was
built by Croesus, king
of Lidya. The Temple
of Diana was famous
not only for its great
size, over 350 by 180
feet (about 110 by 55
meters), but also for
the magnificent works
of art that adorned it.
It was the first marble
temple of the Ancient
world. The temple
was destroyed by
invading Goths in
262 CENTURY and
was never rebuilt. FACTS
