Adverbs of Time

• Adverbs of time is a word that tells


us when an action/something took
place.
• Some adverbs tell us when
something happened.
• It answers the question “when?”
• These include: yesterday, today, tonight, then,
now & tomorrow.
• For examples:-
a) The tiger will eat the chicken tomorrow.

Question : When will the tiger eat the chicken?


Answer : Tomorrow

• In this sentence tomorrow shows us when.


• The word tomorrow is an adverb of time.
b) Yesterday, Sang Kancil saw a crocodile.

Question : When did Sang Kancil see a


crocodile?

Answer : Yesterday

• In this sentence yesterday shows us when.


• The word yesterday is an adverb of time.
• Other adverbs of time include:
later, yet, after, during, soon,
next, already, finally, before,
just, now.....etc.
Other adverbs of time include:-

Saturday, Sunday ... I am going to the


shops on Monday.

Today I've been to the


shops today.

Yesterday I went yesterday.

Next week/month/year I am going next


week.

Finally I finally went.


Already I've already been to
the shops.

Soon I'm going to the shops


soon.

Just I'm just going to the


shops.

Still I'm still at the shops.
