This document describes a student project to design an automatic fire extinguisher system for automobiles. The objectives are to create a portable system using a microcontroller that can detect fires using sensors and automatically release a fire extinguishing agent. A prototype car bonnet was fabricated to install and demonstrate the system. The system works by using temperature and smoke sensors to detect a fire, which triggers a valve to release CO2 gas to put out the flame. Testing was done by creating fires to ensure proper detection and suppression. The results showed the microcontroller-based design was cost effective and reduced risks of malfunction compared to traditional systems.

Many wealth and lives are fallen in danger. As a developing country we have no modern technology to solve this problem. The main sector of fire brigade has limitation to overcome it. If an automatic fire extinguishing system available, offers greater flexibility. In conventional automatic fire- extinguishing systems utilizing a fire-extinguishing gas, a bomb containing a fire-extinguishing gas, such as halon gas (Bromotrifluoromethane), under pressure is provided at a location. Several gas jetting nozzles are arranged at desired locations within a engine region when a fire occurs therein. The gas jetting nozzles are connected through a valve and a pipe to the bomb. Fire sensors are arranged at desired locations within the region. In response to a fire signal from the fire sensors, the valve is opened to cause fire-extinguishing gas to jet from the gas jetting nozzles into the region so that automatic extinguishing can be effected therein. However, since such OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT: • Portable automatic fire protection system is disclosed comprising battery powered ,independent suppressor units, each including a supply of fire extinguishing fluid and a fire detector. The connection of the individual unit's control circuits provides a control circuit network that automatically initiates an extinguishing fluid discharge from all units in response to fire detection by any single unit. The main object of this paper is to provide an automatic fire-extinguishing system which eliminates the above described disadvantages of the prior arts, and to enable easy installation or removal of the system in or from a automobile wherein automatic fire-extinguishing should be effected and to allow a flexible arrangement of gas jetting nozzles according to the size and shape of the vehicle. The main part of this task is the involvement of a microcontroller which may be considered to be the nucleus of the whole system. WORK SCHEDULE: Management has allotted a duration of fifteen weeks to complete the project completely including the report. Our batch has divided this fifteen weeks with first week for title confirmation, another weeks for literature survey and design , other three weeks for material identification, later four weeks for fabrication and remaining weeks for testing, troubleshooting and preparation of report LITERATURE SURVEY: We have gone through nearly ten literature survey which nearly matches our idea and the concept automatic fire suppression system for automobiles. The journals gave an brief idea about automatic working of the fire extinguisher with the help of all the sensors and other electronic devices. In this setup the microcontroller acts as the power house of the total setup were the whole process of PROPOSED WORK: • To design a prototype of an automatic fire extinguisher system, so to showcase the working of this system we have fabricated an prototype of car bonnet were this setup will be installed and the working will be shown. So, for that we have purchased an hollow cylindrical rods of certain measurement and welded together with arc and gas welding to fabricate an prototype of a car bonnet, and the electrical parts(sensors and MCU) are FABRICATION: We have fabricated a prototype of car bonnet to place our extinguisher (project) setup and to showcase the working principle of it . For this we have purchased hollow mild steel cylindrical rod and we used arc and gas welding to join it firmly. Then the welded parts are grinded for smooth surface finish, later this WORKING PRINCIPLE: The working principle of automatic fire extinguisher system is that to put of fire in automobiles which is caused due to short circuit of battery and leakage of fuels from engine. In situations like short circuit the fire is caused in batteries or in the wires, first it produces smoke , the temperature increases rapidly and the flame occur so at the beginning when the smoke is produced the setup will produce an alert signal to the passenger regarding the exertion of smoke in the vehicle and then the temperature is also displayed in the dashboard of the car ,this is achieved with the help of smoke and temperature sensor when there is an occurrence TESTING: The testing is done by creating an fire source in-between the setup and to check whether the sensors are working properly, as the fire source is created the flame sensor is senses the flame and open the valve of the fire extinguisher and releases the co2 gas and put of the fire, if this does not takes place then the troubleshooting of the setup should be done. RESULT AND DISCUSSIONS: The microcontroller based adjustable fire extinguishing system for automobile has been introduced. This system is applicable to different sizes of fire extinguisher and high controlling capability over them (for all type of vehicle). The simple design of it allows minimum of maintenance work. There is a greatly reduced of malfunction, as no moving parts the risk of false alarm is also reduced. The price performance relationship is cost effective. Despite of having a narrow range of difficulty the popularity of microcontroller based system design in automobile is increasing day by day .besides improved and advanced THANK YOU
