DEFINITION
Copyright Act 1957 is a legal term describing ownership
of control of the rights to the use and distribution of
certain works of creative expression, including books,
video, movies, music and computer programs.

MEANING
Copyright Act 1957 refers to the legal right of the
owner of intellectual property. In simpler terms,
copyright is the right to copy.
This means that the original creators of products and
anyone they give authorization to are the only ones with
the exclusive right to reproduce the work.

reproduction. The person who owns the copyright
owner may distribute his work in any manner he
deems fit

The copyright has the right to use his work in various
ways, for instance making adaptations or
translations.
Infringement of Copyright

MEANING

Copyright infringement is the use of works protected by


copyright law without permission. In the context of
copyright infringement, an unauthorized use of a work or
material is any unauthorized reproduction, distribution,
performance, public display or transfer to a derivative work
without the copyright owner's permission.
INFRINGEMENT OF COPYRIGHT

Copyright infringement occurs when any person does any


of the mentioned right and activates with respect to a
copyright work ‘‘WITHOUT A LICENSE’’.
PIRACY :- The ‘‘term piracy’’ has been used to refer to the
unauthorized copying, distribution and selling of work of
copyright.
