The Story of Keesh

By: Jack London

What is/ are the
problems in the
story?

The main problem in “Story of Keesh” is

him proving to everyone that he is
capable of hunting meat and that he isn’t
using any witchcraft thing.

The conflict in the Story of Keesh is the

distrust and misunderestimation of the
council members to the 13-year old
Keesh. When Keesh went to the council
meeting to express his thoughts on the
fair sharing of hunted meat, the elders in
the meeting questioned and laughed at
him.
What moral did
you learn from
the story?

It tells us to appreciate what others do that

benefits us, for in the story, the villagers did
not thank Keesh for the things he has done
for them but gave their prejudices on how
Keesh was rumored using witchcraft to slay
bears.

The story also tells us to think cleverly at

times of great hardships it is shown in how
Keesh was able to slay bears by using
whalebone and a piece of blubber.
