What is reliability ?
• Consistency of discourse obtain (ground,
1997)
• Reliability is the degree of consistency
between two measures of same thing
• The measure of how stable dependable
trustworthy and consistant a test is in
measuring the same thing each time
Why is it important?
• To get the consistency of the result, because
every scores that student get is not always
same. If the score more than 80 it means
consistency and if the score less than 80 it
means not consistency
How to make the test is reliable?
• We have to follow the types of reliability such as:
a. Test-retest method
give assessment twice, separated by days, weeks or months. Reliability is
stated as the correlation between scores at time 1 and 2
b. Alternate form
create two form of the same test ( vary the items ) Reliability is stated as
correlation between scores of the test 1 and 2
c. Internal form
compare one half of the test to the other half. Or use methods such as
Kuder-Richardson Formula
When do we use it ?
• When teacher do an assessment
Where do we use it ?
• In any educational program for example
school
Who can use it ?
• Student
