What is AI

 Back in the 1950s, the fathers of the

field Minsky and McCarthy, described artificial
intelligence as any task performed by a program
or a machine that, if a human carried out the same
activity, we would say the human had to apply
intelligence to accomplish the task.
 Experts say the rise of artificial intelligence will make most people better off over
the next decade, but many have concerns about how advances in AI will affect
what it means to be human, to be productive and to exercise free will.
 In computer science, artificial intelligence (AI), sometimes
called machine intelligence
 Tasks that are monotonous, can be easily automated; this can gradually make certain
roles obsolete.
 Electronic commerce will also undergo a significant transformation.
 Financial services, Insurance and any other sector requiring a significant amount of data
processing and content handling will also benefit from A.I.
 Knowledge representation and knowledge engineering are central to classical AI research.
