Specific Objective:
The student should be able to design
a possible structure of a typhoon-
proof house based on what the
students learned from the PSWS.
- RECALL: Identify the PSWS being
described by the following illustrations
Your community is prone to destructive typhoons. In
groups of 5, think of a possible structure of a typhoon-
proof house. Explain the reasons behind its structure.
 Procedure:

1. Sketch your typhoon-proof house in a Manila


paper.
2. Measure the dimensions of the structure of the
house
3. Make a descriptive text about the output
structure of the house
Each group shall assign the following roles:
1. Engineer – design the output
2. Architect – sketch the output
3. DRRM Person – convey to the group the PSWS in
order to conceptualize the typhoon-proof house
Presentation of the outputs from the students. Each
group is given 2 minutes to promote their typhoon-proof
house by answering the following questions:
1. How do you come up with the design of your
typhoon-proof house?
2. Do you think your design will be appropriate here in
the Philippines in terms of materials and cost? Why?
Peer-Critiquing of the Output
Each group will be critique by other groups using the
PMI format.

Based on the outputs presented, what do
you think should be a typhoon-proof
house?
Assignment:
Watch a video about a famous typhoon that hit the
Philippines and give reactions on how it left a
tremendous disaster in our country.
