Key Learnings

CLUTCH :

 The clutch is perform a definite role in the power transmission from the engine to the wheels.
 The functions of the clutch is follows:
a) For engaging and disengaging engine from gearbox while gear changing.
b) To provide a higher initial torque while moving the vehicle from a stop with load.
 Main parts of the clutch are :
Flywheel, Face plate, clutch disc, clutch hub, torsional spring, clutch liner, Clamping load(Coil
spring or diaphragm spring), Levers or fingers, spring cap, pressure pad, Thrust pad, Release
bearing.
 Ceramic is the material used to make the clutch disc, because its not harmful to the environment that
much as asbestos.
 Types of clutch actuations (Hydraulical & Mechanical).
 Types of flywheel (Pot, Legged, Flat).
 Clamping loads (Coil spring, diaphragm spring).
 Single plate clutch and Multi plate clutch.
What we liked in the training session?

 We are interested in practical session more than the theory, that’s why we liked the entire session.
 We are dismantle each and every parts of the clutch and assembled all these again , that will give
us a proper idea about the clutch assembly, working and need.
 More than that the faculties take maximum effort to share the idea about the clutch.
 They provide both theory and practical session for the each subject.
 The session was gave us many ideas about the clutch and that will help us in the future.

Application: On the Job

 We got a correct idea about the clutch including its construction and working. That will help us
in the future job .
 We can share the knowledge that we got to others and .
 We got the standard operation procedure of the clutch.
 The idea they were shared will help us in the field of job and as well as outside the job ,we can
help the drivers if their vehicle is in a breakdown condition.
