• Infanta Sofía Hospital is a public health centre built by the Community of Madrid to give
specialised quality care to more than 306,000 more residents in the area.
• This is a fully-computerised hospital with the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic
equipment.
• The use of information technology provides the hospital with a paperless working environment,
helping it to be alert, responsive and efficient.
• We worked from competition stage to completion of the project, using its extensive experience in
design and definition of hospital construction.
• The construction of this hospital was under a PFI financial model.

• West wing “ mayor square” connects parking area by ramp and elevators.
• This squre traversed cross the building fringe
• External doctor’s offices and access to the main axis
• At the end rehabilitation service centre in located and direct axis is provided.
• Technical blocks are completely restrained from public which are called functional
containers
• The fringe of the “functional containers” of the technical block is solved using an
element of 18 m. per 25,20 m. width. The grouping (modules) according to the
upright coordinate axis “Y”, of this element separated by courtyards of 4,20
m.width, allows to use a block of 66,20 m. long and 25,20 m. width (5 modules)
or another of 44,40 m. long and 25,20 m width (1 module) for all the technical
block areas; there are 13 largest containers and 4 of the smallest for solving all
the program of the Technical Block.
