Definisi

 Giving oxygen (gas flow) more than 20%

at a pressure of 1 atmosphere so that the
concentration of oxygen increases in the
blood increases in the blood
(Bruner and Suddarth, 2002).
Purpose
1. Overcoming the state of hypoxemia in
accordance with the results of blood gas
analysis.
2. Maintain adequate tissue oxygen.
3. Reducing work breath (work of breath).
4. Reducing the work of the heart to
maintain arterial oxygen
Tools preparation
 Oxygen source / oxygen cylinder.
 Oxygen regulating valve.
 Oxygen regulator:
- Cylinder to find out the contents of the
tube
- Flow meter to regulate the amount of
oxygen needed
- Humidifier to moisturize the air
 Plaster
 Wet gauze in a crooked.
 Scissor
 Kanul binasal
 Simple face mask
 Venturi
 Rebreathing face mask with an oxygen
bag.
 Non rebreathing face mask with oxygen
pouches
 Head box
 CPAP non-invasive
Oxygenation method
a. Low Flow System
 Low Flow Low Consentration
a). Catheter Nasal
 Providing oxygen continuously with
a flow of 1-3 liters / minute with a
concentration of 24 - 32%.
 The depth of the catheter from the
nose to the pharynx is measured by
measuring the distance from the
ear to the nose.
b). Kanul Nasal
Provides oxygen concentrations of
24 - 44% with flow of 1-6 liters /
minute. Oxygen concentration will
increase by 4% with each increase in
flow of 1 liter / minute.
2). Low Flow High Concentration
a). Simple Face Mask
Is a low flow system with the
nose, nasopharing and aropharing
as anatomic storage. The flow given
is 5-8 liters / minute. Oxygen
concentration between 40 - 60%.
b). Face Mask With Pockets “Rebreathing”
The flow is given 8 - 12 liters / minute with
a concentration of 60-80%, inspired air is
partially mixed with expiratory air 1/3 part
of the volume of exhalation into the bag,
2/3 parts of the volume of exhalation
passes through holes in the side.
c). Face Mask With Pockets“ Non
Rebreathing “
Flow is given 8-12 liters / minute
with oxygen concentrations of 80-
100%, inspired air does not mix with
expiratory air, is not influenced by
outside air.
b. High flow system
An oxygen delivery technique where
FiO2 is more stable and not affected by
breathing, so that this technique can add
oxygen concentration more precisely and
regularly.
