The project is related to auditing the structural health
observed at a proposed extension of PALLET STORAGE SYSTEM (herein called as Rack) OBJECTIVES AND SCOPE
Review of the structural drawings, design criteria and
loading conditions Inspection of the in-situ conditions for health diagnosis Damage assessment Strengthening of structural elements, as required Scope of work
Review of in-situ conditions
Review of material NDT reports, if required Review of analysis and design Audit / Feasibility report INSPECTION OF THE IN-SITU CONDITIONS Visual Structural Rating of Beams Visual Structural Rating of Cross Bracing / Strut Visual Structural Rating of Upright Case study
Steel rack of various suppliers are used for storage of
heavy mechanical components. Weight of these mechanical components can be up to 800kg over a one pallet Details Of Racks Are Given As 1) Type A Rack: Existing G+6 Level Rack converted to G+7 Levels Upright: 90(W) x 2.5Thk. Beam: 110LI x 1.4Thk for Span 2850mm Long. 2) Type B Rack: Existing G+5 Level Rack converted to G+6 & G+7 Levels Upright: 90(W) x 2.5Thk. Beam: 110LI x 1.4Thk for Span 2850mm Long. 3) Type C Rack: Existing G+5 Level Rack converted to G+6 Levels Upright: 90(W) x 2.5Thk. Beam: 110SI x 2Thk for Span 3450mm Long. 4) Type E Rack: Existing G+6 Level Rack converted to G+7 Levels Upright: 90(W) x 2.5Thk. Beam: 110LI x 1.4Thk for Span 2850mm Long SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

Load Details Description of profile used Material Specification Description of the structure Conclusion
The cracks in concrete if any need to be healed using
epoxy resins. The bolts needed to be checked and damaged bolts are required to be replaced. The damaged cross bracing is needed to be replaced before loading the racks. The damaged beams need to be replaced before loading the racks. The uprights can be repaired or replaced. The racks can be loaded partially if not repaired.
