WHAT IS TEACHING AND LEARNING STRATEGIES

• Teaching and learning strategies can include a range of


whole class, group and individual activities to
accommodate different abilities, skills, learning rates and
styles that allow every student to participate and to
achieve success.
DEBATTLE

• An Approach to Teaching and Learning. Debate refers to


a discussion in which two or more people advocate
opposing positions on a topic or question in an attempt to
make an audience (or the other advocates) accept their
position.
EXAMPLE :

• Which one is more significant to your life right


now, a SUNRISE or SUNSET
PHILIP 66

• A spontaneous method where six people express


their opinions for six minutes. When Used:To add
spice and variety to methods of presentation.
Procedure:Participants first define the topic of
discussion
TAP AND RESPONSE
BUZZ GROUP

• 3-6 students discuss an assigned topic or


solve a problem.
CONCEPT MAPPING

• Students are asked to produce a graphical


representation that illustrates relationships
between concepts.
ONE MINUTE PAPER/ EXIT SLIP

Free write on a topic allowing them to explore it


before discussion as feedback to instructor on
muddiest point or questions. Topic useful info/new
info/ unresolved question.
QUESCUSSION

• Discussion conducted entirely in the form of questions


MOCK PRESS CONFERENCE

•coming up with question and answer


quickly on a topic.
TV COMMERCIAL

• Students groups create 30 second tv


commercial that illustrates concepts
covered.
