Stresses in Thick-Walled Pressure Vessels
Problem
Consider a cylinder subjected to an external pressure of 100 MPa and an internal pressure of 50 Mpa. The
cylinder has a 30 mm ID and a 40 mm OD, respectively. Assume the cylinder is caped. Find the Principal
stresses at radius 18 mm.

Stresses in Thick-Walled Pressure Vessels
Problem
Consider a cylinder subjected to an internal pressure of 50 MPa. The cylinder has a 100 mm inner radius
and a 150 mm outer radius, respectively. Assume the cylinder is caped and external pressure neglected.
