How to set goals?
The simple fact is that for goals to be powerful, they should be
designed to be SMART.

Specific : (simple, sensible, significant)

Your goal must be clear and well defined. Vague or generalized
goals are unhelpful because they don't provide sufficient
direction.
Measurable : (meaningful, motivating)
Each SMART goal has a starting point as well as a finishing point
and they are indications of the quality of the effort to be made.
Achievable (Action oriented) : (agreed, attainable)
Make sure that it's possible to achieve the goals you set. If you
set a goal that you have no hope of achieving, you will only
demoralize yourself and erode your confidence.
Realistic (Relevant) : (result based, reasonable)
Goals should be relevant to the direction you want your life and
career to take.
Time-bound : (time-based, time sensitive)
Time-bound is actually about the time that is allocated to reach
the goal. A SMART goal therefore has a clear starting time and a
clear end date.
“All successful people have a goal. No one can get anywhere unless he knows where he wants to
go and what he wants to be or do. ” —Norman Vincent Peale
