DOLE implemented the Career Guidance


Advocacy Program (CGAP) – an
employment facilitation intermediation
services for the youth to provide them
relevant information that could guide them in
making informed career choices.
-aims to immerse parents and students on the
realities of the labor market, and convince the
Career Guidance Counselors and Career
Advocates to use career guidance as an
effective tool in addressing job-skill mismatch.
-Strengthening guidance services, providing
youth with access to career guidance, life skills
and technical, on-the-job trainings.
2.DOLE starts career guidance and
employment coaching for college, high
school students
-begun conducting career guidance and
employment coaching in 16 regions, with an
expected 249,853 college and high school
students nationwide as main audiences and
beneficiaries.
-the activities, which will be in the form of
seminars are meant to inform students on key
labor market information, including jobs that
are in demand and which will be in demand in
the next 10 years
-students should decide their career choices on
the basis of what the labor market needs and
not on what is popular, to enable them to
land jobs after graduation.
