The Local Government Code of
1991 (LGC) Section 393 states. .

entitled to benefits and other
emoluments as authorized by
law or barangay, municipal, city
ordinance. “

c. Medical/Emergency Benefits
d.Educational Benefits
e.Civil Service Eligibility
f. Preference in appointments to
government positions
Educational Benefit

(4) Be exempted during

their incumbency from
paying tuition and
matriculation fees for
their legitimate dependent
children attending state
colleges or universities
(SUCs).
He/She may likewise avail of such
educational benefits in a state
college or university located within
the province or city to which the
barangay belongs.
 Process Involved

1. Incumbent/Dependent
asks for certification
from DILG Provincial
Office/HUC Office;
2. Staff-in-charge checks
database and prepares
certificate;
3. Staff-in-charge
releases duly signed
certificate
Limit of the number of
beneficiaries:

There is no limit as to the number

of legitimate dependent children of
barangay officials who are entitled
to the educational benefits in state
colleges or universities.
