Reporting

 Reporting means collecting and presenting data so that it can be


analyzed.
 In the first case, reporting is the art of collecting data from various data
sources and presenting it to end-user in a way that is understandable and
ready to be analyzed.
 In the second case, reporting means presenting data and information, so it
also includes analysis. In other words , allowing end-users to both see and
understand the data, as well as act on it.
FEATURES OF GOOD REPORTING

 Report title: It is important to provide a name to the report such that it


reflects its purpose

 Precision :In a good report, the report writer is very clear about the exact
and definite purpose of writing the report. His investigation, analysis,
recommendations and others are directed by this central purpose.

 Simple Language: A good report is a written simple language avoiding


vague and unclear words.

 Fully customizable : Dashboards and reports should be fully customizable -


title, color, font, formatting, logo, layout, size, position and more.

 Real-time insights : Dashboards and reports should show real-time live data
which refresh automatically. Gone are the days, when you manually
update your data and re-run reports. Users want live information that
