-recognition that the individual thinking person

 No one can tell me what is right or wrong

 No one knows my situation better than myself

 I am entitled to my own opinion

 It is good if I say that it is good



 PSYCHOLOGICAL EGOISM

- Theory that describes the underlying dynamic


behind all human actions.

- It does not direct one to act in any particular


way. Instead it points out that there is already
an underlying basis for how one acts.

 ETHICAL EGOISM

-prescribes that we should make our own


ends, our own interest, as the single overriding concern.
We may act in a way that is beneficial to others, but we
should do that only if it ultimately benefit us.
