Rainbow?
⪢ a rare phenomenon where the
sun & clouds combine to
create a colorful ball in the
sky.
⪢ Scientifically known as
Circumhorizontal Arc.

 How is it formed?

• How is it formed?The sun

must be at least 58⁰ high in a
sky where cirrus clouds are
present.
• The numerous, flat, hexagonal
ice-cystal that compose the
cirrus cloud must be aligned
horizontally to properly
refract sunlight like a single
gigantic prism.
• Therefore, fire rainbow are
quite unusual to see

 Where to see?

⪢ The best place to see a fire rainbow

is in a place that has mid latitude &
is close to the equator.
⪢ It also depends on weather
conditions, the right type of cloud
has to be in the sky.
⪢ In the US it is relatively common,
fire rainbow can appear several
times a year during warm weather.
