What are robots?

Why are some robots called

robonauts?
ROBONAUTS
Robots are machines. They can do some
things that people do. And they can do
some things that people cannot. Robots do
not have to eat. They do not have to eat.
They do not have to drink. And the y do not
get lonely.
Robots can do the same things over and
over exactly the same way. They do not
get bored. They do not get tired. And
best of all robots can do things that are
too dangerous for people to do.
That is why the National Aeronautics
and Space Administration or NASA uses
robots. It sends robots on long trips. It
sends them to places where there is no
air to breathe. It sends them where
people cannot, or cannot go yet.
NASA will use robots as robonauts to go on
spacewalks. A robonaut looks like a person.
It has head, arms, and upper body. A
robonaut may go go outside the
International Space Station. It may work
with astronauts on space walks. It may go
where it is not safe for humans.
