ISRO
Indian space Research Organisation (ISRO) is started in the year 1962.it is actually founded by Vikram
Sarabhai as INCOSPAR(Indian National Committee for Space Research).
ISRO’s first satellite Aryabhata launched by soviet union in the year 1975
Satellite Launcher Vehicles
In the year 1980, Rohini became the first satellite to be placed in orbit by Indian made launch vehicle SLV-3.
And subsequently developed some more launcher vehicles like PSLV,GSLV-MK 1 and 2, GSLV-MK 3.
About Various Satellites
GAGAN
GPS Aided GEO Augmented Navigation is a step by the Indian Government towards initial satellite-
based Navigation services in India.
Chandrayaan-1
ISRO sent lunar orbitar,Chandrayaan-1 on 22nd October 2008, which discovered lunar water in the form of ice.
MANGALYAN
It is also known as Mars Orbiter Mission(MOM) which was launched on 5th November 2013and it entered the mars orbit
on 24 September 2014, making India first nation to succeed on its maiden attempt to mars.
ACHIEVEMENTS
On 18 June 2016, ISRO launched twenty satellites in a single vehicle, and on 15 February 2017, ISRO launched one
hundred and four satellites in a single rocket (PSLV-C37), a world record.
ISRO launched its heaviest rocket, Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mark III (GSLV-Mk III), on 5 June 2017 and
placed a communications satellite GSAT-19 in orbit. With this launch, ISRO became capable of launching 4-ton heavy
satellites into GTO.
CHANDRAYAAN-2
Chandrayaan-2 is launched on 22nd July 2019 by GSLV mark-3,which is the second lunar exploration mission
developed by ISRO.
