leverages of technology and impact the lives of all people.”
It shows how the company values its customers by aligning its vision with its needs. The
various elements that directly related to this vision statement include:
• Global impact - Primary objective is to have a global reach where it traverses all corners of
the world, linking people with its web of logistics.
• Leveraging on technology - FedEx’s vision statement shows that the company
acknowledges the place of technology in the operations of modern businesses.

Organizational effectiveness is the concept of how effective an organization is in achieving the
outcomes that the organization intends to produce.

The organisation is divided into no. of division for handling different work effectively to
produce required output is called as Complexity. FedEx is having higher complexity.

• Vertical Complexity : In FedEx there is large no of employee so different no of layers are


in the organisation to control the Employee and head of the organisation is at the top.
• Horizontal complexity : Large no of department at each level of the organisation due to
different work to be done by the different department.
• Spatial Complexity : FedEx is serving 220 countries and territories. so its spatial
complexity is high as it expands in terms of geographically in a wider area.

Formalization : FedEx is highly formalized as the working pattern of the it is repetitive in

high value-added logistics, transportation. Customer requirements will be met in the highest
quality manner appropriate to each market segment served. FedEx will strive to develop

• Command and Control is the satellite to ground-level operations system, based at
the Memphis Super-Hub, that enables FedEx to deliver packages by the fastest,
safest and surest route, in any weather condition. The system uses satellite and
computer communications technology to monitor routing and traffic information
in real time and acts as a weather management tool.

have a very large external environment because their operations are not affect by many outside
sources.
• The internal environment of FedEx consists of customers, distribution and competitors. This
environment determines what FedEx does to succeed in their market. FedEx has two major
customers who consist of businesses and individual customers.
