 Energy is an illusive quantity that allows a system to
influence other system. Energy demand has increased
tremendously over the years as per the increase of
population due to needs and necessity.
 One thing that make the energy distribution is through
distrbution transformers. Transformer is a passive electrical
device that transfer electrical energy between two or more
circuits. Transformer is a static device but internal stresses
arising from abnormal system condition, one if the
occurence of fault.
 Fault in the transformer will reduce the reliability of
the power quality as well as the distrbution utility. Due
to this, fault analysis has been conducted to search and
recommend solution to the arising problems. Fault
analysis is because of different types of reasons that
interrupts and stresses the transformer and may also
include the poor maintenance of the device. This
affects the transmitted power and also the economic
zone because of the loses that consumes money and
labor.
Statement of the Problem

To know, analyse and establish future solutions to

minimize the leakage and voltage drop and able to
assess the failure that causes faults to a distribution
transformer of the FIBECO feeder “X” in Maramag,
Bukidnon.
General objective
 The main objective of the study is to assess and
identify the common and mostly occurring faults in
FIBECO feeder “X” in the municipality of Maramag
Bukidnon.

Specific Objectives:
 Obtain and analyze the historical data from FIBECO in the
municipality of Maramag, Bukidnon.
 Determine the usual faults that occur in the transformers.
 Use statistical tools such as pie charts and bar charts to analyze
the cause of various faults that leads to interruption.
 Identify the frequency of occurrence of this fault type.
Scope and Limitations

 Transformers that are active and fully working

 Transformer faults, failures,
 Covers only in FIBECO feeder X in Maramag,
Bukidnon, and nature of faults and how long will it
take the power back after the fault.
 First, the researchers obtained the historical data of a
specific distribution company here in Bukidnon,
Philippines, which is FIBECO in the municipality of
Maramag.
 Second, the must be collected data were presented in
tables, pie charts, bar charts and analyzed through
simple statistical tools and interpreted in simple
percentages and degrees.
 Finally, identify the frequency of occurrence of this
fault type.
Conceptual framework
Data Gathering
Result and discussion
 This analysis reveals that the overloads and
electrical disturbances are the major cause of
transformer failure.
 Small no of transformer are also failing due to
lightning and insulation.
 As for the statistical tool, pie graph and bar graph
defines the percentile of the number of faults in a
year that occurs due to the reasons.
 The frequency of faults occurrence in an installed
transformer is very high.
