MANAGEMENT ACT OF 2000

CRITERIA FOR SITING A SANITARY LANDFILL
THAT WAS NOT MET
(c) The site should have an adequate quantity
of earth cover material that is easily handled
and compacted
(e) The size must be located in an area where
the landfill’s operation will not detrimentally
affect environmentally sensitive resources
such as aquifer, groundwater reservoir or
watershed area
Section 48. Prohibited Acts

PROHIBITED ACTS VIOLATED BY THE

MUNICIPALITY OF BONTOC

 Littering, throwing, dumping of waste

matters in public places, such as roads,
sidewalks, canals, esteros or parks, and
establishment, or causing or permitting
the same
PROHIBITED ACTS VIOLATED BY THE
MUNICIPALITY OF BONTOC

 The open burning of solid waste

 Causing or permitting the collection of

non-segregated or unsorted waste

 Squatting in open dumps and landfills;

PROHIBITED ACTS VIOLATED BY THE
MUNICIPALITY OF BONTOC

 Open dumping, burying of biodegradable

or non-biodegradable materials in flood-
prone areas;

 Establishment or operation of open

dumps as enjoined in this Act, or closure
of said dumps in violation of Sec. 37;
Section 50. Administrative Sanctions.

Local government officials and officials of

government agencies concerned who fail to
comply with and enforce rules and regulations
promulgated relative to this Act shall be
charged administratively in accordance with
R.A. 7160 and other existing laws, rules and
regulations
ACTION TAKEN:

FOR THE DUMPING SITE TO BE CLOSED

In addition:
 Repair the retaining wall;
 Fencing of the whole dump site to prevent
further dumping
 Soil cover rehabilitation
 Site re-vegetation
 Removal of the accumulated garbage in the
dump site
 Removal of the accumulated garbage in the
dump site
