ABSTRACT
 Clustering methods are used to segment the image of the eye for feature
extraction: iris, pupil, collarette, scelera.

 We have used iris cluster for disease identification and the combination of
pupil, collarette, scelera for security analysis.

 The project is to recognize the unique identification of the iris.

 The execution might get affected due to some minor deflections in the
eye due to reflection of light and squeaking.

 So image segmentation is done in order to evade different types of noise

and other light sources which might affect the iris recognition process.
INTRODUCTION
 This paper resolves the problem of distorted accuracy by taking a database of images of
diseases affecting the eyes and three methods: Mirlin, Osiris, VeriEye based on iris recognition
and demonstrating types of vision loss and diseases based on cholesterol levels.

 Iris plays a vital role in automatic recognition of an individual i.e. biometric system. The
recognition is based on some unique feature of an individual. This paper is to study the real
life application of security system based on iris recognition and the steps towards real life
implementation.

 This methodology helps in intensifying security and limiting access to system. This also helps
the sectors where access to specific resources is highly controlled. The technique is used in
prevention from forgery in various examinations, bank systems and for boarding purpose in
airport area.

 Also helps in access in phone, building, confidential sectors or departments. This technique for
biometric verification is proven to be much more effective compared to fingerprint technique
PROPOSED METHODOLOGY
The algorithm provides us with a list of cluster centres and a partition matrix:
𝑾 = 𝒘𝒊,𝒋 ∈ 𝟎, 𝟏 ,
where, 𝒊 = 𝟏, … , 𝒏, 𝒋 = 𝟏, … , 𝒄

The modified membership function (Pij) is proposed as follows,

σ𝑴 𝟐
𝒌 𝒅𝒊𝒌 | 𝒅𝒊𝒌 =𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝒅𝒊𝒌 ∈𝑽𝒊 ∀𝒊,𝒌
𝑷𝒊𝒋 = σ𝒄𝒊 σ𝑴 𝟐
𝒌 𝒅𝒊𝒌 | 𝒅𝒊𝒌 =𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝒅𝒊𝒌 ∈𝑽𝒊 ∀𝒊,𝒌

To optimize the center of each clusters with respect to membership function we have,
𝒏 𝒄 𝒏 𝒄

෍ ෍(𝑾𝒊𝒋 )𝒎 = 𝟏; 𝟎 ≤ (𝑼𝒊𝒋 ) ≤ 𝟏; 𝟎 ≤ ෍ ෍(𝑼𝒊𝒋 )𝒎 < 𝑁

𝒌=𝟏 𝒊=𝟏 𝒌=𝟏 𝒊=𝟏

RESULT AND ANALYSIS
INPUT IMAGE

Images representing some examples

of ocularness conditions that occurs
due to actions of the eye they are
namely clear, geometry, tissue or
obstructions
RESULT AND ANALYSIS

Fig. 2: Cumulative distributions

of genuine (left) and impostor
(right) scores shown
independently for data gathered
in five subsets of eyes: Healthy,
Clear, Geometry, Tissue and
Obstructions. Comparison scores
are calculated by MIRLIN
matcher, i.e., lower score denotes
a better match. Average similarity
scores for each distribution are
also shown in brackets.

OSIRIS method was used to generate
comparison scores.
RESULT AND ANALYSIS

This result shows the accuracy, type of

disease and the subset the image of an eye
belongs to.
