STRESS ?

Stress is the body’s response to any physical or emotional changes in life.

The only person without stress is a dead person.

This response includes the release of a hormone,adrenaline in the body. Adrenaline causes
an increase in heart rate, breathing and in blood sugar levels. It also diverts the blood flow
From your digestive system to your muscles.

Types of Stress
1. Acute stress :
Acute stress is the most common type of stress. It’s your
body's immediate reaction to a new challenge, event, or
demand, and it triggers your fight-or-flight response.

2. Episodic acute stress : When acute stress happens frequently, it’s called
episodic acute stress. They are often short-
tempered, irritable, and anxious.

3. Chronic stress : If acute stress isn't resolved and


begins to increase or lasts for long
periods of time, it becomes chronic
stress. This stress is constant and
doesn’t go away.

Stress management refers to the wide spectrum of techniques


and psychotherapies aimed at controlling a person's levels of stress, especially chronic
stress, usually for the purpose of improving everyday functioning.

responsibility for reducing stress levels. Individual strategies
that have proven effective include implementing time-
management techniques, increasing physical exercise,
relaxation training and expanding the social support network.
