Through the urbanization of the
country, there are a lot of
agricultural lands were converted
into commercial, residential,
industrial, institutional and other
uses. The conversion of
agricultural lands will basically
result to a rapid urbanization in
which it will lead to a small
number of farmlands, agricultural
production and employment

and through the advancement of
the technology in the country the
agriculture has been slowly
forgotten, also it has a huge
impact to the environment which
will lead to global warming,
flooding, landslides, and soil
erosion.
Objectives
The proposed project is to develop
an Agri-tourism in Alfonso, Cavite
that will serve as the new tourism
destination, a place for leaning, for
relaxation and for fun, it gives
importance and value to agriculture.
This will help to give knowledge and
better understanding about
agriculture and also, it provides
employment to local farmers, to
benefit and sustain both community
and economy, also it aims to
preserve agricultural lands in the
country to prevent land conversion
Architectural Objectives
1. To introduce the importance of
Agri-tourism in Alfonso, Cavite
and also to the country.
2. To develop vast land into an
educational and recreational
purposes to encourage people to
understand and to learn more
about the importance of
agriculture in the country.
3. To help prevent Agricultural land
conversion by introducing Agri-
tourism.
4. To provide an additional source
of income, employment
opportunities to the local
farmers and to the local people
in the community.
 The Agri-tourism provides an employment for local farmers and
also it provides economic development for local communities to
generate income.

Moreover, the Agri-tourism can increase the level of education

Justification of the study and activities related to agriculture among tourists it would be an
advantage to develop Agri-tourism to strengthen the agricultural
production and to help prevent land conversion.

Architecturally, this study will support sustainability through

proper site planning, waste management, building design,
landscape architecture, and proper conceptualization.

What is Agriculture?
Agriculture is the art and science of cultivating the soil, growing crops
and raising livestock (Ben G. Barejo, 2014). It includes the preparation of
plant and animal products for people to use and their distribution to market.

Agriculture is one of the world’s largest food commodities which is not
only focusing on food production but, it also provides products like cotton,
wool, and leather that are used in our daily life. These products and the
agricultural methods are also used in different parts of the world especially in
countries rich in agricultural lands.
Chapter 3
Architectural Topic
The word “Agri-tourism” is a combination of both “agriculture” and
“tourism”.
In terms of tourisms, structural, functional and aesthetic aspects of
architecture, particularly represent unique features that attract tourists.

In terms of Agriculture, the word farm building is a type of any of the

structures used in farming operations, which may include buildings to house
families and workers, as well as livestock, machinery, and crops which is the
concept of the proposed project.
Case study

It is a 6-hectare land area of natural

landscape conveniently located in
Tagaytay, five minutes from
Tagaytay-Calamba Road (2.4km.). A
place with a wide range of natural
features and with a cool fresh air from
the mountain, Tagaytay farm resort
has a venue for events, conferences,
seminars, team-building activities,
educational tours workshops for
leisure, relaxation and wellness as
well.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10068 (Philippine Organic Agriculture Act of 2010)
NATIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR PHYSICAL PLANNING 2001-2030
 This law will strengthen and support the proposed project and the guidelines of tourism will help the
country’s economic growth to provide protection, value, policies and programs that will help make
the country’s agritourism design successful.
REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9003 AN ECOLOGICAL SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
 To ensure proper implementation of waste management in the area and to protect the environment of
the site.
ORDINANCE NO. 01 Series of 2000 An ordinance adapting the comprehensive land use plan and zoning
regulations for the municipality of alfonso.
 To apply the regulations of the zoning ordinance to the proposed project.
REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10816 An act providing the development and promotion of farm tourism in

 This law is the outline of the government’s measures to reduce air pollution and incorporate
environmental protection into the proposed project.
REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9296“THE MEAT INSPECTION CODE OF THE PHILIPPINES.”
 This law will strengthen and support the proposed project to ensure food security and provide safety and
quality standards of the meat to ensure that it is not hazardous to health.

Presidential Decree No. 856 “THE CODE ON SANITATION OF THE PHILIPPINES.”

 This law will strengthen and support the proposed project this will ensure the health protection of every
people, to improve proper use of sanitation facilities and good hygiene practices.

Senate Bill No.2839 “AN ACT STRENGTHENING THE ANIMAL INDUSTRY AND VETERINARY SERVICES IN THE
PHILIPPINES”
 This Act will strengthen and support the proposed project, this will ensure the health protection of every
agricultural animals against viruses and diseases.

Findings and Conclusion

Summary
The Philippines is known to be an Agricultural country. Despite of this, Philippines is facing a problem
in terms of agriculture, the continuous decreasing of agricultural land can be attributed to the conversion of
land from agricultural to other uses, this could lead to a huge impact to Filipino’s. Because agriculture is
one of the largest sources of food in the country.
According to the Department of Agriculture (DA) agriculture is life, without agriculture we
are nothing and without farmers we are nothing. Also, it has a huge impact on the
environment, especially in the ecosystem. Agriculture preserves the ecosystem, it helps to
maintain healthy growth of unique vegetation and provides habitat to animals.
Through the approved law of Agri-tourism/farm tourism, this aims to give an employment generation
for farmers and to local community, higher income, preservation of the environment, provides education
related to agriculture, promotion of Agri products, it benefits to the community and lastly, the Agri-tourism
aims to maintain the agricultural land and also to prevent from land conversion.
 Chapter 10
Findings and Conclusion

Conclusion on findings
The overall generalization of the project, the proponent has analyzed the project thoroughly and is
achievable, precise to the needs of the municipality of Alfonso. The proponent has been established
that the proposed project could become a product of an adaptive architecture for the development of
Alfonso, in which the proposed project is “Agritecture” a proposed Agri-tourism Paradise, this will
give a new attraction to the municipality. It aims to give knowledge about the importance of
agriculture, helps the farmers and the community and to prevent from land conversion to be able to
preserve the environment.
