Phosphorus moves in a cycle x2
Phosphorus moves in a cycle through rocks, water, soil, sediments and
organisms.
Through what?
Rocks, water, soil, sediments, organisms
The rain falls on the rock to release phosphate ion.
This phosphate ion distributed to soils and water.
Distributed to what?
To soils and water.
Plants then take up phosphate ion and consumed by animals. (ngap ngap)
When plants and animals decay, or animal defecation,
Organic phosphate returns to soil.
Some bacteria, in the soil, break down the organic matter to inorganic
phosphorus.
Phosphorus in soil can end up in waterways and eventually oceans.
Once there, it can be incorporated into sediments over time.
