Size of each Column :- 9" × 14"

Foundation

Type of foundation :- Shallow foundation

Depth of foundation :- 4.5'

Height of Slab :- 3.50 m
Estimated Cost of Project :- 45 lacs
MATERIAL USED

CEMENT

Cement is a binding material used to make bond between the particles of substance like
bricks, for plastering, masonary work, pointing, etc.
FINE AGGREGATE

It is the aggregate most of which passes 4.75 mm IS sieve.Fine aggregate ranges from
2.36mm,1.18mm,0.6mm,0.3mm,0.15mm.According to source fine aggregate may be described as:

1. Natural Sand– It is the aggregate resulting from the natural disintegration of rock and which has been
deposited by streams or glacial agencies.
2. Crushed Stone Sand– It is the fine aggregate produced by crushing hard stone.
3. Crushed Gravel Sand– It is the fine aggregate produced by crushing natural gravel.
COARSE AGGREGATE

Coarse aggregate is mined from rock quarries or dredged from river beds, therefore the size, shape,
hardness, texture and many other properties can vary greatly based on location. Most generally, coarse
aggregate can be characterized as either smooth or rounded (such as river gravel) or angular (such as
crushed stone).Coarse aggregate ranges from 80mm,40mm,20mm,10mm,4.75mm.
BRICKS

A small rectangular block typically made of fired or sun-dried clay, used in building. A brick is building
material used to make walls, pavements and other elements in masonry construction. The Standard size of
brick is 190mm×90mm×90mm.
HIGH YIELD STRENGTH DEFORMED BARS

These bars are prepared from high Yeild strength steel which is able to take more tension before
undergoing yeilding. For eg. the typical yeild strength of these bars is 500MPa. These bars have more yield
strength than Mild Steel. Unlike TMT bars, HYSD bars are both hot or cold worked. They are graded as Fe
415 or Fe500.It has higher carbon content .Higher tensile strength.
EQUIPMENTS USED

TROWEL

A trowel is a small hand tool used for digging, applying, smoothing, or moving small amounts of viscous or
particulate material. Common varieties include the masonry trowel, garden trowel, and float trowel.
PLUMB BOB

A plumb bob, or plummet, is a weight, usually with a pointed tip on the bottom, suspended from a string
and used as a vertical reference line, or plumb-line. It is essentially the vertical equivalent of a "water
level".
IMMERSION OR NEEDLE VIBRATOR

Immersion or Needle Vibrators are most commonly used vibrator for concrete. It consists of a steel tube
(with one end closed and rounded) having an eccentric vibrating element inside it. This steel tube called
poker is connected to an electric motor or a diesel engine through a flexible tube. They are available in size
varying from 40 to 100 mm diameter.
COMPONENTS OF BUILDING

FOUNDATION
As quality of soil was good, Shallow foundation was considered instead of deep foundation.A Shallow
foundation is a type of building foundation that transfers building loads to the earth very near to the
surface
TIE BEAM

Tie beam in structural engineering is like a primary beam which connects two columns at any height above
the floor level.A tie beam is usually recommended for a column when its height is more than 4 to 5 meters.
However, the designer must keep in check the bending length of the column to make them non slender.
COLUMNS

A column is a vertical structural element that transmits, through compression, the weight of the structure
above to other structural elements below. In other words, a column is a compression member. Columns
are frequently used to support beams or arches on which the upper parts of walls or ceilings rest.
PROCEDURE OF CONSTRUCTION IN BRIEF

At first day, I saw Shallow foundation was being dug (i.e.,4.5').Then in further daus, Columns were being
marked with the help of plumb bob.The foundation was filled. At the top of foundation, Tie beams were
constructed with provides stability to columns. As days passes,Columns were being constructed.Till the end
of my training, all the partitions were made and 13 columns was constructed.
SUGGESTIONS

Now the project is under the construction stages but after this stage, the following aspects of environment
should be kept in mind :
Climatic Conditions should be considered as at the time of Construction, it was raining few days due to
which work was stopped.
Conclusion

Apire Construction is involved in the construction and maintenance of the buildings.

All the designs are earthquake resistant in accordance to seismic zoning. It provides Clear, safe and
convenient access and facilities to the users.
