OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the discussion, the students of Grade 12 Andromeda
are expected to:
1. To know what camping is all about;
2. To differentiate the different types of camping;
3. To be aware of the things to consider when going to camp; and
4. To internalize the benefits of camping both in health an social
status.
WHAT IS CAMPING?
• Camping is an outdoor activity involving overnight stays away
from home in a shelter such as a tent or a recreational
vehicle.
• Typically participants leave developed areas to spend time
outdoors in more natural ones in pursuit of activities
providing them enjoyment.
• To be regarded as camping, a minimum of one night is spent
outdoors, distinguishing it from day tripping, picnicking, and
other similarly short term recreational activities.

• Lessen your stress


– Camping allows you to cope with your stress and since
you’re giving yourself some stress-free time in the
campsite, you’re also putting much less strain in your
body thus preventing it.

– In camping, it also allow you also to perform different
physical activities.
– Even if you’re taking a fishing trip, you’re burning more
calories than you’d burn sitting around an office, and if
you hike or bike, you’re performing cardiovascular
exercise that help keep your heart and lungs healthy.
